Launched on September 30th 2004, Anton Lukin’s new ‘Kylie’, sporting his favourite ‘Australian rules’ football team’s colours (Port Power), Kylie is another of Adelaide Ship Construction International’s 22 metre New Generation Prawn Trawlers.

‘Kylie’ is the latest in a long line of boats owned by Antoon Lukin, ranging from Purse Seiners to freezer vessels and Prawn Trawlers.

‘Kylie’ has a larger wheelhouse and a noticeably increased flare in the bow, providing improved clearance forward when anchoring, as well as improving the vessel’s sea keeping qualities, especially when working her way into a head sea.

Fitted with a complete Caterpillar engine / power package, and a 52kW bow thruster, ‘Kylie’ is sure to provide many years of low maintenance service.

Carrying in excess of 20 tonnes of frozen product, ‘Kylie’ is fitted with an air blast snap freezer taking the 240 ten kilogram boxes down to -40 degrees Celcius.

Her wheelhouse is roomy and un-cluttered, and fitted with a complete Furuno electronics package, with all accommodatio being air-conditioned and light and breezy, to minimize fatigue of the crew of 4. Accommodation is within the focs’le in three roomy two-man cabions, which open into the attracive, modern and well appoointed mess and galley, complete with a Denon home entertainment system, including DVD player.

All handrails, staunchions, sponsons etc., are of high grade stainless steel, and the internal fitout is of highest quality timbers and joinery.

Performing brilliantly on her sea trials, the vessel has certainly lived up to the expectations of the Lukin family’s expectations, reaffirming the ship yard’s ability to please the most discerning of clients.
