Adelaide Ship Construction International is now a proud member of the Smart Group of Companies. Our Port Adelaide site is co-located with Smart Fabrication, providing an un-matched capability of maritime construction, alongside oil & gas fabrication under ISO certified quality, environment and OH&S management systems.
ASCI currently operate the largest commercial shipyard of its kind in the state of South Australia, and are one of the largest steel shipbuilders in Australia. We have 3 active individual slipways capable of pulling 600 DWT vessels out of the water.
History
Adelaide Ship Construction International was originally founded in 1980 by Joe Glamocak. From 1980 to 2010, ASCI manufactured 63 vessels for the defence, commercial fishing, tourism and other industries, all to various survey classes including DNV, BV, Lloyds Register, ABS, US Military Standards, and USL Code. ASCI are renowned for their New Generation Prawn Trawlers, which feature a steel hull and aluminium wheelhouse, along with a host of other construction features that provide increased speed, fuel efficiency and steadiness at sea.
