Launched on Saturday, July 3rd 2004 at the Adelaide Ship Construction’s North Arm premises, the ‘Victor BJ’ is the latest vessel for Mr. Tony Santic of Tony’s Tuna International Pty. Ltd., of Port Lincoln, South Australia.

The new vessel will operate at Tony Santic’s well known Port Lincoln tuna farming operations. Like her predecessor ‘Markane’, she will tow tuna cages in from the Great Australian Bight, and service the company’s tuna farms east of Boston Island (near Port Lincoln).

The ‘Victor BJ’ has four brine tanks to accommodate live bait, and a 12 tonne Hiab deck crane for loading and stowage of pallets of bait on her spacious and uncluttered main deck.

Tony Stantic has had a long association with Adelaide Ship Construction International and ship designer Peter James, having completed numerous projects, including new boats and modifications to existing boats.

This vessel has been slightly modified for improved performance and a bow which has been flared more to provide for dryer decks in big seas, such as those experienced in the Great Australian Bight.

All accommodation is of course fully air-conditioned to ensure comfort for the crew of 9, and the Danta woodwork adds a distinct touch of class to this beautiful vessel.

The vessel is working already, proving comfortable, seaworthy, and ideal for her job, performing to everybody’s entire satisfaction.
